Spring showers often bring thunderstorms and unwelcome interruptions to your computer without a UPS battery. Buying a $100 battery backup for power interruptions is a worthy recommendation for every business. Even if you have a surge protector, the instantaneous turn off of your computer during a power outage can do damage to whatever you are working on up to making your hard-drive unbootable.

Things to checkout when buying a UPS (Uninterruptible power supply)...

  • Plug everything into it necessary to turn off your computer (Monitors, Computer, etc)
  • Don't buy anything less than a 600VA power rating
  • Buy enough power rating (VA) needed to power your computer and other items
  • Don't plug your laser printer into a UPS
